Symbols included within Welsh online resource directory, Dewis Cymru

Dewis Cymru is THE place to go if you want information or advice about your well-being or want to know how you can help somebody else. The online resource directory contains over 200 information pages and 10,000+ resource entries ranging from Zumba to nursing homes; all to do with well-being across Wales…
As part of a commitment to make Dewis Cymru as accessible as possible, Richard Palmer - Assistant Director at Data Cymru, approached Widgit to develop a set of Symbols for each of the 27 search categories.
The directory already featured Browsealoud - which helps people who might find it difficult to read the information on Dewis Cymru - and the addition of Widgit Symbols means that the site is more accessible for people with dyslexia, literacy difficulties or for those whom English is not their first language.
